Clifton Gene Booze
was born May 31, 1933 in Millsboro, Pennsylvania, to
Walter Booze and Virginia Clifton Blair. On September
7, 1950, at the age of 17 and with his mother's permission,
he entered the Army. While in the Army he was sent to
Virginia War Camp preparing to go to Korea. Apparently
the Army refused to send him to Korea after finding
out he was only 17. They sent him to Germany where he
served for three years, from 1951 to 1953. Gene then
left the Army and headed back home to Pennsylvania where
work was hard to find unless you worked in the coal
mines. He then joined the Air Force On May 25 1954.
He was transferred to Cambridge, Mass. where he met
his wife, Patricia Ann Colangelo. After being married
Gene was tranferred to Greenville, South Carolina in
October 1956 where his first child was born. In 1958
Gene was then transferred to Weisbaden, Germany for
4 years where his next two children were born. In 1962,
he was transferred to Omaha, Nebraska where his fourth
child was born. 1964 found Gene in Izmir, Turkey where
his fifth child was bor. After th etour in Turkey, Gene
was sent to Warner Robbins, Georgia. From there he was
sent to Pashawar, Pakistan until they closed the base
in 1969, The family was then sent to San Antonio, Texas
where Gene retired in 1974 after 20 years in the Air
Force. Gene had his sixth child here.
