Jan. 10, 1968 PCS’d to FT. Campbell, KY for basic training, received
National Defense Medal
Mar. 1968 PCS’d to Ft. Gordon, GA for MOS training Southeast Signal
School; MOS 72B
Aug. 1968 PCS’d to the 362nd Signal Support Unit, 6th Signal BN, 6th
Signal Group, Worked with dependent children in the Boy Scouts
as Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor; camped with German, French and
Belgium Scouts
May 1970 Promoted to Sergeant E-5, received 1st Good Conduct Medal,
assigned as Enlisted Aid to the Commanding General USASTRATCOM-EUR
Feb. 1971 Returned to 362nd Signal Support Unit, volunteered for
Re-enlistment NCO and Postal Clerk
Sep. 1972 PCS’d to 1st US Army, Ft. George G. Meade, MD
Communications Center
Jan. 06,1973 Married Pam in my Dress Blues
Oct. 1973 Volunteered for Recruiting duty
Nov. 1973 PCS’d to Danville, IL on recruiting duty
Apr. 1974 Graduated Recruiting School, Ft. Benjamin Harrison, IN
Oct. 1974 Received assignment orders for South Korea
Nov. 1974 PCS’d to Puson, South Korea 372nd Signal Company, served as
Assistant Scoutmaster Boy Scouts of America
Mar. 1975 PCS’d to HQ 8th U.S. Army Communications Center, Seoul,
Korea, served as Unit Postal Clerk and Scoutmaster, Received Golden
Caribou award from the Far East Council BSA, only four are presented
yearly for service to Scouting, I also attended Woodbadge training at
Camp White Beach, Okinawa, Japan
Oct. 1975 Received assignment orders to HQ US Army Pentagon
Communications Center, interviewed for White House Communciations
Staff, received 2nd Good Conduct Medal and served as assistant
Scoutmaster at Ft. Myers, VA, completed Woodbadge Course and received
the Woodbadge Beads
Jun. 1976 Discharged and returned home to St. Louis and Pam &
Patrick
Sep. 1976 Joined the Army Reserves, HQ USAR Mobilization Detachment
May. 1978 Promoted to Staff Sergeant, E-6, Senior Computer Operations
NCO
May. 1984 Promoted to Sergeant 1st Class. E-7, Chief of
Telecommunications
Jun. 1990 Transferred to the HQ 10th PSYOP BN, assigned BN
Communications Chief, received 2nd Award National Defense
Medal, Desert Shield/ Desert Storm Medal
Mar. 1992 Received Army Achievement Medal
Mar. 1994 Promoted to Master Sergeant, Senior Staff NCO, HQ 102nd
ARCOM, Deputy Chief of Staff Information Management St. Louis, MO
Sep. 1995 Received Army Commendation Medal
Mar. 1996 Promoted to Sergeant Major, Senior Staff NCO, HQ 89th RSC,
Deputy Chief of Staff Information Management Wichita, KS
Aug. 1998 Retired USAR
